A note from Alain

GASTON 03 holds a special place in my heart, having first been prototyped a decade ago and finally brought to life three years ago. Its initial success inspired us to enhance its durability and comfort. We've introduced a new, easy-care yarn that retains its softness, and elevated the craftsmanship with advanced hand-linking techniques for a more refined finish. This iteration is more versatile than ever, blending the relaxed feel of a sweatshirt with the elegance of a high-end turtleneck. For me, it's the perfect travel companion – a cozy pillow on flights and train journeys alike.

To give your jumper a good and long life please follow these simple guidelines:
  • No need to dry clean. Prefer hand wash or low temperature machine washing.
  • Machine wash up to 30 degrees using a delicate or wool adapted detergent. Do not bleach, soak or rub. Wash similar colors together. Low machine spinning or roll in a towel (for ultimate durability). Unfold the collar prior to washing the jumper.
  • Dry flat, including body, collar and sleeves. Unfold the collar. Dot not tumble dry ever !
  • No ironing needed. If you really want to, set the iron on the Wool, Medium or 2-dot heat setting. Use little to no steam. Do not press to avoid the jumper becoming shiny.

Easier than a sweatshirt

GASTON 03 is not your ordinary uptight turtleneck.

GASTON 03 is heavier, comfortable, casual yet dressy. The ultimate winter jumper and your best ally against the cold. Your everyday Winter staple.

Easy to wear, pair and care for, GASTON is Alain’s favourite piece to travel, whether on him or used as a sleeping pillow.

Bold colors make for a lively Winter

Each color is meticulously developed and handpicked by us in collaboration with our Italian yarn maker and exclusively for  GOSSUIN. Moving beyond classic dark blue and Brazilian green, this season’s palette reflects our dedication to crafting bold, lively, unique, versatile shades.

From bright red with orange undertones to warm earth brown, vibrant haddock blue, and spicy yellow, every color has been thoughtfully chosen to bring energy and character to your wardrobe. These are not just colors—they’re a reflection of our commitment to making winterwear vibrant, personal, and timeless.

Soft on your skin, kind to sheep

A lasting jumper starts with quality materials. We chose an extra-fine (19.5 microns) 100% Merino wool sourced in Argentina.

The sourced wool is guaranteed mulesing-free. It is fully traced from flock to yarn.

The yarn is spun and dyed by E. Miroglio in their own workshops located in Italy and Bulgaria.

The wool is soft and non-itchy. You can wear it straight on your skin if you want to.

Thermal harmony

Unlike Cashmere, Merino wool is naturally thermo-regulating. It offers warmth in chillier weather and stays comfortably cool when it's milder.

The yarn used for the 02 and 03 ensures an even more ideal balance, providing a shield against the cold while maintaining a pleasant temperature indoors.

Totally easy care

The yarn is total easy care meaning it has was treated to be machine washable. The added benefit of this treatment is that pilling is also greatly reduced.

A cozy breathing double layer

Our double-layer knitting in the upper body and sleeves of GASTON 03 creates a unique air cushion, trapping warmth while maintaining breathability.

The knit is robust yet flexible, avoiding over-stretching for optimal shape retention.

Weighing a comfortable 850g, it's perfect from autumn to early spring, offering both enduring wearability and snug warmth.

True collar

The GASTON 03 collar is uniquely designed to be stiffer than the average turtleneck, ensuring a consistently neat appearance without sagging or losing its shape.

Comfortably snug without being restrictive, the collar maintains its form—marking it as the true hallmark of a high-end turtleneck.

In this third iteration, we made subtle but impactful changes: a return to the 4:2 collar ribbing, compared to the 3:3 of the GASTON 02, and a slightly wider transition from the body to the collar. As with anything already great, the magic is in the details.

Sleek Silhouette with Italian Shoulder

The Italian shoulder in our GASTON 03 isn't just a design choice, it's a silhouette enhancer. By shifting the shoulder seam to finish at the back, it presents a cleaner, more streamlined look at the front.

This subtle alteration not only adds to the garment's elegance but also lends an appearance of heightened stature and improved posture to the wearer.

Scalloped wrist

The wrist is scalloped just where the thumb sits to make sure the wrist position itself at the right place.

It is our signature and will look just right with a GOSSUIN shirt.

Square armscye Engineered for Movement

The armscye forms a square rather than the classic ellipsis. This way of binding the sleeves to the body is often seen in sports and military sweaters, allowing a higher freedom of movement.

Flat knitted in Lithuania

The jumper is knitted and finished in Kaunas (Lithuania) on flat knitting machines. It is fully fashioned, meaning it is knitted in shape rather than as a roll.

Pieces are then bound together via re-meshing / hand-linking (when needed) rather than sewn together. The use of this technique prevents material waste.

Our jumper is 100% made in Europe from yarn to finish.

Traceability

We fight for people to own less but better garments.

To guide you on that path, we promise to clearly tell you what we know and what we don't at every step of garment making process.

Let's be clear, manufacturing new garments will always impact the environment.

That said, by measuring it, we can identify how to gradually reduce it on every new creation.

This is the impact of producing one GASTON 03 turtleneck.

Still A Decade in the Making

From the legacy of the unreleased GASTON prototype—a decade-old treasure worn exclusively by our founder, Alain—to the launch of GASTON 01 and GASTON 02, our journey toward excellence leads us to GASTON 03. This new chapter unfolds with a clear mission: to refine and enhance what we've already established as very special.

Refined by Experience

GASTON 03 is not merely a sequel; it stands as a testament to our dedication to continuous enhancement. Heeding the insights from our first 2600+ GASTON enthusiasts, we've evolved the jumper to more comfortable while changing a few details for a nicer, even more beautiful look.

It must be said: the GASTON 02 was already highly praised for its comfort, fit, and quality. This new version doesn’t reinvent a model that has won over so many of you but introduces subtle improvements that make all the difference: a slightly adjusted fit for even more ease and comfort, a refined ribbed collar, and reshaped armholes for an even better fit. Details that may go unnoticed by most but are essential to our creators, reflecting our relentless pursuit of perfection.

Colorful foundations

Our ambition to invigorate the winter spectrum remains unwavering. Expanding beyond the classic dark blue and Brazilian green, we've introduced bold new colors, meticulously chosen by Alain and masterfully crafted in Italy by our yarn maker. Each shade is selected for its distinct character and adaptability, bringing vibrant new energy to your winter wardrobe.

Imagine wrapping yourself in a bold, bright red—a modern twist on the classic, radiating a crisp, orangey vibe. Envelop yourself in the warmth of earth brown, a rich, effortlessly elegant hue. Make a statement with luminous haddock blue, a shade sure to resonate with comic book fans. Add sunshine to your winter outfit with bright spicy yellow. These colors are more than just additions to your wardrobe; they’re an infusion of life, transforming the dreary winter into a canvas of vibrant, stylish expression.

A Commitment to Improvement

Wear GASTON 03 with the knowledge that it's a product of evolution, crafted from valuable input and a desire to offer something that's not just better, but the best. It's a symbol of our commitment to you and to the craft, a piece that we're proud to say has been elevated in every way.

Wear with pride. Wear with confidence. Wear without moderation.

It took many people to bring GASTON 03 to the world. This section is dedicated to them.
